Christmas Traditions // Christmas Eve Box

December 2, 2018
As Christmas approaches, I begin to think about the traditions that we have chosen for our family. Both Mr Boo and I love Christmas so when we decided to have a family we wanted to make it a special time of the year. Over the years we have created family Christmas traditions that we have continued each year.

Whilst I was pregnant with Piglet I’d seen the introduction of Christmas Eve boxes across social media and thought what a wonderful idea. A pre-Christmas treat for the whole family and something to add to the magic of the season. I created our very first Christmas Eve Box just after Piglet was born and every year since the children have woken up on Christmas Eve morning to find a basket full of treats and entertainment.

Christmas Eve Box for Toddlers

Up until now when I have started to plan what to add to our Christmas Eve box, I have used a white wicker basket that was gifted to us at my baby shower. This year Piglet is very much aware of Christmas. The sparkly lights, the decorations, Father Christmas and of course the presents that she is hoping to rip open come Christmas morning. With this in mind, I have been looking at a Christmas Eve box for toddlers.

Whilst my initial search was for a Christmas Eve box for her, I came across a family version which I thought was much more magical. As this box will be used by the whole family, hopefully for years to come.

Delivered with love

Wishing to make this year a little more magical there is a letter attached to the lid of the box from Mr & Mrs Claus. Telling us all about the treats included and wishing is a cosy Christmas Eve.

Included is a magic key to ensure that Santa is able to access our home to deliver the presents as we don’t have a chimney for him to climb down. A bag of reindeer food to sprinkle on the garden, to not only give the reindeers something to munch on whilst Santa is delivering the presents. But the sparkles will help them navigate to our home.

Whilst a hot chocolate cone with marshmallows offers the warmth and cosy feeling needed to sit down and enjoy a true Christmas classic. Whilst there has been many fantastic Christmas stories over the years, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas is one from our own childhoods. Which is lovely to share with the next generation.

All that is needed now is a new pair of pyjamas, as you can never have too many and you need to look your best for Father Christmas.

Do you make a Christmas Eve box for your family?
