Christmas Guide: Advent Calendars

Christmas Guide: Advent Calendars

November 17, 2014

Christmas is a magical time of year, putting up the decorations, writing lists to Santa and selecting the perfect advent calendar that will help you countdown the days until Christmas. Advent calendars have universal appeal whether you are 1 or 99 years old, however whilst some like to pop up an advent calendar to find a deliciously chocolatey treat hidden behind the door others prefer to open up a new book or DVD to enjoy or maybe a new addition to their toy collection.

I’ve gathered together my top 5 advent calendars to share with you, hopefully inspiring you to open something different this advent and make the countdown to Christmas that little bit more special.

Playmobil Advent Calendars

Tigger recently received his first Playmobil set for his birthday and has really taken to the different characters with it. Playmobil is an amazingly interactive set of toys that really capture a child’s imagination. Available in so many different designs and sets it is a really versatile toy, so what better way to add to your child’s Playmobil collection than by getting them a Playmobil advent calendar, available in five different designs to cater for everyone’s favourite Playmobil series.

Available designs: Santa’s Workshop, Unicorn Fairyland, Dragon’s Treasure Battle, Police and Pony Farm

Price: £18.99

Where to buy: Playmobil, Amazon (affiliate link), Argos and all other good toy retailers

Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent Calendars

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a chocolate advent calendar, however don’t all into the trap of buying those cheap £1 chocolate calendars – when you wake up in a morning you want to be greeted by the glass and a half milk chocolate that is Cadbury’s.

Christmas Book Advent

As a child I can remember listening to my Mum read me Christmas stories, falling in love with the magic before drifting off to sleep. This year I want to start a new Christmas tradition with Roo and Tigger by reading a different Christmas story each day.
