As I was sorting through what Mr. Boo and Tigger are going to wear for Piglet’s christening I suddenly realised that Mr. Boo doesn’t have any smart shoes or boots to wear with his shirt and trousers. Deciding to be proactive (and wanting at least one outfit sorted) I took a look online at various shoes and boots. As I searched I came across some Chelsea boots in the sale which immediately made me think of my uncles visiting my Granny.
You see as a child I would often spend a week or two at my Granny’s house in the holidays. Each evening we would have our tea around 5 pm but all had to be finished and cleared away by 6 pm. My uncles would call over every night on their way home from work to see my Granny and have their tea. Which at the time I never really thought was odd but now I do. Especially considering that they were all married and had families of their own. Yet each night would have their tea at their Mam’s house before going home to their families.
Anyway, when they would come round after work I would find a row of Chelsea boots by the back door. There was no way my Granny was going to let them in the house with their mucky work boots on. I can see her point considering one was a builder and the other two were car mechanics. Then one by one the pairs of boots would disappear as they headed home for the evening.
It’s funny the things that you remember from your childhood.
Anyway, I managed to order a pair of Tommy Hilfiger Rounder Chelsea Boots in the sale for Mr. Boo. To be paired with his navy shirt and trousers. Although I’m wondering whether or not to get him a tie? Tigger has a fabulous Spiderman tie that I found in H&M just before Christmas.
Do you think he needs a tie? or will he look smart enough without?
