Getting your kids interested in gardening might seem like an impossible task. With all the distractions in the technical world, you might think simple activities like planting and weeding, watering and digging would be too old-fashioned. However, there seems an urgency, where getting our children out into nature could be a matter of improving their health and the health of the planet.
Whilst it’s difficult to accept that summer is drawing to a close, there are a ton of things to be getting on with before the bad weather and dark nights set in. Whether you’re squeezing out the last few drops of sun by enjoying your garden or battening down the hatches for the colder seasons, it’s undeniable that your garden & your lawn furniture need a little TLC to be prepared for winter.
It’s only in the last few years that we have had a garden to maintain as well as a house and of course, the children. I hold my hands up and admit that I’m not very green-fingered, which is a good thing really as I tend to come out in a rash whenever I hand freshly cut grass or hedges etc. Luckily What The Dad Said has taken to maintain the garden in his stride.
We might be in the era of technology and if reports are to be believed, more and more children are spending time indoors. This doesn’t mean to say that you can neglect your outside though. On the contrary, if you do this, you are playing right into the hands of technology – and little people will be forever resigned to the same four walls.
