With the school week passing us by in a flash we decided to treat ourselves last Sunday by heading over to Brewers Fayre Great Yarmouth for a family dinner together. A chance to catch up before we head into a new week and to save me from having to cook something at home (always a bonus). Rather than heading out at lunchtime we decided that booking for 5pm would work better for us, plus by the time we had eaten it would be time for heading home for baths, PJ’s and lounging on the sofa (a perfect Sunday evening).
Brewers Fayre, Great Yarmouth
Earlier this year Great Yarmouth finally caught up with the rest of the country by having it’s very own Brewers Fayre restaurant open alongside a brand new Premier Inn. Located just of the A47/A12 junction at the entrance to Great Yarmouth it is in prime location for all those coming into the town as well as locals who are looking to eat out.
Booking a table
Booking a table at Brewers Fayre can be achieved online via the Brewers Fayre website, which enables you to select the number of people and the time you’d like to book for (should your time be unavailable the system will offer you a selection of other times that are available). You can also telephone the restaurant or call in if you are passing or staying in the Premier Inn next door.
Parking
There is a large car park available at Brewers Fayre Great Yarmouth with additional parking available outside the Premier Inn for when the restaurant is busy. Although when we arrived at just before 5pm on a Sunday there were still parking spaces available.
Menu selection
One of the good things about Brewers Fayre is the menu selection. Alongside the main menu there are offers generally available throughout the week for example the Daytime Value Menu and the Chef’s Counter.
Daytime Value Menu
Eating out as a family can soon add up when you factor in starters, mains and desserts – the Daytime Value menu at Brewers Fayre really offers good value for money if you are visiting between 12.00pm-6.00pm weekdays. With two starters costing just £2.50, two main meals for just £10.99 and finishing off with two desserts for just £2.50 you can have a three course meal for two costing just £16.99 plus drinks.
With a selection of different dishes available on the Daytime Value menu from spicy potato dippers, grilled gammon steak and profiteroles ( <– highly recommended I must add – they are delicious). So whether you are enjoying a lunch date with your other half whilst the children are at school, grabbing an early tea with the children after school or just because I’d recommend taking a look at the Daytime Value menu to see how much you could save and of course enjoy a hearty meal.
Chef’s Counter
The Chef’s Counter offers a buffet style meal starting at just £6.99 per adult, with a different style offered each evening between 5.00pm-8.00pm there is something for everyone.

Desserts
Being a lover of a nice dessert (or two) the Brewers Fayre menu doesn’t make it easy for you as there is so much to choose from. Taking a walk past the dessert display might make your decision easier or in my case it just made it more difficult – in the end we opted for three different desserts so we could all have a bite of each others.
Beano Children’s Menu
With main meals starting at just £3.99 the Beano’s Menacing Meals make it a great choice for children. With a selection of meals available from fish, burger, chicken and sausages there is hopefully something there for all tastes. Roo loves the Cod-a-pult served with chips and peas although today she decided to try out their Sunday Carvery, Tigger of course only eats chips so we ordered him a bowl of chips from the extras menu.

Brewers Fayre Great Yarmouth is conveniently located for us as a family, just off the main road into the town and with dedicated parking it means that we didn’t have to worry about whether we would be able to find a space. The restaurant is still modern and family friendly which is a plus point when you have two children with you.
We loved the menu selection and will certainly be back again to take advantage of the Daytime Value menu when the children are at school (Mr Boo and I might actually get to enjoy a meal without interruption).
