Christmas in July might be over for the brands and companies showcasing what they hope to bring the nation this Christmas. It might still be three months to Christmas, but there is still something big happening on the Christmas radar… #BlogOnXmas! That’s right it’s Christmas in September for bloggers heading to Manchester at the end of the month. Hoping to celebrate all things festive whilst learning new skills, gaining more knowledge and meeting up with the friends in our computers.
To prepare ourselves for #BlogOnXMAS, the team have come up with a little ice breaker linky… A #BlogOnXmas Jumper Linky (like what they did there??). So without further ado, this is me…
Please share your favourite photo of you
I don’t have very many photographs of myself, as I tend to be the one taking them. Although over the past year I have really been making an effort to be in the picture a little more. This photo was taken on our trip to Disneyland Paris earlier this year. I love it as it I’m a huge Monsters Inc fan and as we were taking photos of the set Sully came out and I was able to get a photo with him.
If you could choose a band to play in your garden for your birthday, who would you pick?
This is a tough one as I love a few different bands. I think I’d have to go for The Script, I love the range of different songs they have released – plus Danny is quite pleasing on the eyes!
What do you take with you for long visits to the toilet?
I have three children, there are no long visits to the toilet. In, job done and out again!
What word can’t you spell?
Guarantee – Every time I have to think about whether the ‘u’ goes before or after the first ‘a’.
What’s the most unusual job you’ve ever had?
When I left school I had worked for a job agency and I’d get shipped off to lots of different contracts. I’ve worked in a chicken packing factory (never again! it’s a miracle that I can still eat chicken), I’ve picked strawberries and I packed vegetables in a refrigerated factory wearing almost all my wardrobe to keep me warm (also I was collected at 3.00am to start my 6.00am shift as it was a 2 hours drive away and we had to collect others on the way).
Knitting, sewing or crochet?
Sewing – cross stitch used to be my go to relaxing pastime, although haven’t completed any projects since the children. I tried knitting and crochet, but these are beyond my skill set. My mum can knit, watch TV and hold a conversation at the same time – I don’t know how she does it!
Without looking it up, what is a jerkinhead?
Sounds like an insult I would shout in a fit of road rage.
If you could have as much of one food as you wanted forever, what would it be?
Such a difficult decision as it depends on what mood I’m in. My heart is saying chocolate but my heart is screaming what about pizza, cake, and crisps! As you can see nothing healthy #illneverbethin
What is the scariest thing you’ve ever done?
Done as in on purpose? If so, then I’d say aerobatics with the RAF when I was an air cadet as a teenager. After I’d done it, it was amazing but during the experience, I was just concentrating on not throwing up.
If you needed a getaway driver, who would you choose?
Ernie, the driver of the night bus in Harry Potter. That man has some skills and I love the idea of being able to squeeze between London buses and such like.
Would you rather live in Narnia or at Hogwarts?
Narnia was my first true love, however, I do love the magical aspect of Hogwarts. I think I’d have to stay true to my roots and say Narnia – but I want all the snow!
What snack food says ‘Christmas’ to you?
Mince pies. My mum used to make her own mince pies every year and would have to keep making extra batches as everyone would pop round to sample them.
Is there life on Mars?
Yes, where else does Marvin the Martian come from?
Which Christmas movie would you be a character in, and who would play you?
I’d be the mom in Home Alone, dashing around trying to ensure that everything is packed and ready for the holidays only to leave something – or in this case someone behind. I’d love Julia Stiles or Reece Witherspoon to play me.
What are you proudest of?
Is it really cheesy to say my blog? If someone would have told me seven years ago I would a) still be writing my blog and b) it enabling me to stay at home with the children I wouldn’t have believed them. I’m a quitter, when times get tough or I get bored I move on and drop things. My blog is an extension of my family now and I don’t feel I could ever walk away from it.
