Are you ready for the Big Spring Clean?

Spring has arrived, the clocks have leapt forward (although I’m still missing that hour in bed) and the promise of warming weather is putting everyone in a good mood. The arrival of spring also marks the best time to get a big spring clean completed before you are too busy enjoying family BBQs, cutting the lawn and jetting off on holiday.

Get ready for the big spring clean

Cleaning out the cupboards, sorting out clutter and jumble for charity and attempting to go through the mountain of children’s toys might be on your to-do list but it is important to make sure that your home is shown some TLC too.

Boiler care

Your boiler should be serviced at least once a year and a gas safety certificate issued. Now is a great time to get that booked in to ensure that your boiler is in good working order and that it is safe for you and your family.

Check your gutters

Whilst climbing up a big ladder might not appeal to everyone (I’m not a fan of heights which is my excuse for being so short) it is important to clear out your gutters. The autumn leaves and the winter weather can cause issues within your guttering and downspout so getting up there and clearing out old leaves, twigs and moss will ensure that when the summer showers come that the water has somewhere to go. Adding grills on top of your gutters can make this job easier so it might be something to think about.

Carpet cleaning

Your carpets put up with a lot of wear and tear over the year especially if you have children or pets. Hiring a carpet cleaning machine can be done from your local DIY store and even most supermarkets so there is no excuse not to give your carpets a deep clean, bring them back to life and remove the ingrained dirt and dust.

Patio maintenance

Hopefully, the warmer weather is on its way and when it arrives it manages to stay so that we are able to get outdoors as much as possible. Now is the time to clean up patios and decking ready for when you have your family around for a BBQ or two. Sweeping away the debris and getting rid of any weeds between the paving slabs will instantly make it look better but if you want to give it a big spring clean then a blast from a pressure washer will really make a difference.
