Confession time… Tigger suffers from the middle child syndrome. Bless his heart he has never really had a bedroom kitted out to the way he would choose. Up until we moved home two years ago he had the box room. Which was the nursery that had decorated for the arrival of Roo. In neutral tones of cream and cocoa to tie in with the Mamas & Papas Barnaby Bear theme. It was never redecorated for his arrival or the subsequent years he called it his bedroom. It never had his own stamp on, it was just a room where he slept and kept his belongings.
Not that he ever complained. But that is just his personality. Plodding along and going with the flow.
When we moved to a bigger house, we vowed each of the children would get their own space. A room to call their own and one decorated to their design. Two years down the line and we still hadn’t really touched the bedrooms. Still finding our feet here and time passing so quickly that I can’t believe that we have been here two years already.
Making amends with superhero-inspired prints
An email from Desenio showcasing their range fo poster prints spurred me into action. Clicking through to see what they had available I managed to spot a couple of perfect Batman inspired poster prints for Tigger’s superhero themed room. Looking to see what sizes they were available in I managed to spy a couple of additional prints that would make a set for his room.
Initially, I had planned to possibly place the poster prints on the walls as they came, however, spotting some sleek black frames to match the designs. I knew that these would offer addition longevity to the prints – perfect for a child’s bedroom.
Ordering Prints and Frames from Desenio
With the poster prints decided upon and the frames to match, the hardest decision was selecting the sizing for them. Wanting to make a statement in his room I opted for two larger prints and frames at 50x70cm. Alongside two smaller prints and frames at 30x40cm. Looking to create a gallery style feel on his wall.
Delivery took just a few days and packaged so carefully. The poster prints rolled into a cardboard tube, each with tissue separating them to ensure that they arrive in top condition. With the frames individually wrapped and complete with protective film across the front to prevent scratches in transit.
Assembling the new prints and frames was so easy, with the difficulty coming in where to hang the new prints. We walked around his room what felt like 100 times before deciding on three above his bed in a gallery style. With the remaining larger print above his desk.
The prints I selected all have a Batman feel to them as that his favourite superhero. The print above is desk is possibly my favourite. Stating ‘Always be yourself unless you can be Batman then always be Batman‘. That statement is Tigger to a tee. With the LEGO Batman Movie released a while back he knows every word and happily recites segments at random moments.
One of the prints I ordered Mr Boo was a little unsure off, however, (warning stereotypical words appearing) as Tigger is a boy he loves to chat about farts and bums etc. With his reply to anyone who says but being ‘no buts, no butts, no coconuts!’. Personally, I think that the ‘Just in case no one told you today – hello, good morning, you’re doing great, I believe in you, nice butt‘ is a fantastic print for his room. It offers a segment of motivation, whilst still adding humour!
As you can see he is pretty happy with his new poster prints. Now I have Roo asking when we can order some designs for her room.
