Last Friday whilst attending an event at Chessington World of Adventures life as we knew it changed in the short journey between our car and our hotel room.
You see whilst we unloaded the car we handed Tigger his red muslin blanket and his most favourite possession – his Reindeer. However, during the walk across the car park, through the hotel lobby and up to your room reindeer was lost.
You can only imagine the blind panic that consumed us when we realised that Reindeer was missing. Tigger was upset that Reindeer had gone and my heart broke for him knowing just how special that Reindeer was to him. Mr Boo retraced our steps back down to the hotel lobby and out to the car park but was unable to locate him. I asked at reception but, unfortunately, nobody had seen Reindeer.
That night for as long as I can remember Tigger went to bed without Reindeer by his side.
The following morning after breakfast and whilst Mr Boo and Roo had gone swimming I took Tigger and Piglet out to the car park to see if we could see Reindeer. I looked under parked cars and searched our car without success. On our way back into the hotel I thought I’d ask again at reception to see if Reindeer had been handed in. The lady on reception kindly looked in their lost property room but Reindeer was not there. Thinking the worst I thanked her for looking for us, however, she said that there was one more place that she could look. Heading into the back office she disappeared for a minute or so before the door opened and I saw Reindeer peeking out at us. The lady asked if this as the Reindeer that we were looking for and Tigger shouted ‘Reindeer!’. I cannot tell you how pleased I was to see Reindeer.
Finally, Tigger was reunited with Reindeer, declaring how much he had missed him. Needless to say, he is now even more attached to Reindeer than he was before.
So to the kind person who found and returned Reindeer at Chessington World of Adventures hotel last Friday, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, I cannot tell you how much your simple act of handing in a Reindeer means to us.
Thank you x
