Can you remember playing Cluedo as a child? Trying to work out who did it, with what and where the murder took place. I can remember desperately trying to figure it out but more often than not I got it terribly wrong but wasn’t too upset as I’d had fun trying to work it out.
As I’ve gotten older I have seen murder mystery nights and weekends and often thought about booking one, however one thing has stopped me… the formality of it all. Whilst getting all dressed up can be fun, it can also have it’s downsides in that it can make you feel not like yourself. Yesterday’s World in Great Yarmouth are hoping to change people’s thoughts on murder mystery evenings.
Yesterday’s World Presents ‘Two Hearts’, where passion leads to Murder!
An immersive theatrical experience set amongst 20,000 square feet, across 2 floors of historical displays. Interact with live actors, discover hidden clues and solve the crime!
Recently I was invited to one of the Yesterday’s World #TwoHearts murder mystery evenings along with Hex Mum and Big Family, Little Adventures to see just how they are challenging peoples’s perceptions of a typical murder mystery evening. Arriving dressed in jeans and top I did wonder whether I was somewhat under dressed for the evening, however as soon as I walked into the tea room my fears were put to rest. I really loved the relaxed atmosphere and can see both locals and visitors to Great Yarmouth simply walking in off the seafront into Yesterday’s World for an evenings entertainment.
Included within the entrance price is a very well stocked buffet, including an array of sandwiches, nibbles and cakes (lots of very delicious cake) all served alongside soft drinks.
After grabbing a plate full of delicious treats (did I mention the cake?) I took a seat and as we chatted amongst ourselves the actors interacted with the guests and were true to their characters throughout. With no formal ‘we are about to start’ it was an argument between two characters that kicked off the evening.
As the characters guide you throughout the storyline you are taken through the two story Victorian attraction, with regular trips back to the tea room to refresh your thirst or enjoy more cake (did I mention the cake?).
Throughout the evening the actors draw you into the storyline and soon you find yourself questioning them and wondering who it is that will be murdered and most importantly who did it!

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
What an evening, I had an amazing time and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it to everyone, whether you are a season pro at murder mystery evenings or like me you have never attended one before. The actors were truly wonderful and really get you involved within the storyline and the food (did I mention the cake?) was truly scrumptious, I can really see why they have an award winning tea room. Whilst you explore the Yesterday’s World attraction along with the characters I do feel that you’ll be itching to comeback during the day with the kids to fully interact with the attraction – especially the carousel.
Disclosure: I received entry to the Yesterday’s World #TwoHearts murder mystery evening FOC for the purpose of review.
