The latest Thomas & Friends fun and action to hit the Island of Sodor is the Spills & Thrills adventures. All aboard for Spills & Thrills with Thomas and his friends! The Island of Sodor is always bustling with activity, yet when the engines try to be Really Useful they often find themselves in some messy muddles!
Alongside the new Spills & Thrills DVD there is a range of Take-n-Play sets available from Fisher-Price. Tigger was recently sent the Fisher-Price Take-n-Play Spills and Thrills on Sodor play set along with Fisher-Price Take-n-Play Stepney Engine an engine we weren’t familiar with to test drive.

Tilt the tracks against the wall the lift the gate to send Thomas racing down to the paint shed! As he zooms downward, Thomas triggers 5 exciting actions!
Send Thomas down the track…
…he knocks over the signal…
…crosses over the drawbridge…
…sends the cargo down the zip-line…
…and crashes through the paint shed getting covered in paint!
Now of course it would be unfair to all of Thomas’ friends if we didn’t let them have a turn too, so Stepney you’re up first…
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
The take-n-play set requires assembly before it is ready to be put to the test, usually with these types of sets there is a degree of assembly but this ones requires a little more attention in making sure that everything is clicked and locked into place.
Tigger is very lucky in that he has several of the Take-n-play playsets available from Fisher-Price. The main difference I would say about the ones he has and the new Fisher-Price Take-n-Play Spills and Thrills on Sodor play set is that this is not ale to be folded away and taken along with us on days out etc. It does however, have a carry handle on the top which means you can transport it easily but it’s not one of the sets that we could take to a restaurant for example to keep him occupied at the table.
The Fisher-Price Take-n-Play Spills and Thrills on Sodor play set has a RRP of £24.99 which I think is a fair price especially when you consider it comes with a Thomas die-cast train too. With the Fisher-Price Take-n-Play Stepney Engine having a RRP of £6.49 this is the average price for one of the Thomas & Friends take-n-play engines so whilst it may seem expensive they are built to last!
Disclosure: We received the Thomas & Friends: Take-n-Play Spills & Thrills on Sodor playset and Stepney engine FOC for the purpose of this review.
