Day 1: Istria

The best way to start a round trip around Croatia is to visit the oldest city in the region of Istria – Pula. This historic city has a wonderful attraction – the amphitheatre, which is a highlight, especially for history buffs. For a relaxing and sunny time on the beach, you can take a little detour to Medulin. This small village enchants with its many bays and crystal-clear waters.

Rovinj is one of the places that everyone falls in love with. There you can walk the cobbled streets, get lost in the old town, have a glass of wine by the sea, watch the sunsets and feel at home. The city of Rijeka is located on Kvarner Bay and is therefore called the gateway to the islands that lie in the bay.

Day 2 and 3: Zadar and Split

The city of Zadar is a town that connects the old and the modern. Apart from its historical heritage and cultural spots, Zadar offers two unique attractions. The Sea Organ is a stone staircase that descends into the sea with an underground system of pipes that emit unique sounds every time the sea waves hit the shore. The Greeting to the Sun is a 22m wide circle filled with solar panels that, after sunset, perform light effects in different colours.

One of the most popular cities on the Adriatic, especially among tourists, is the cultural metropolis of Split. Here you can stroll through the impressive city gates, admire the UNESCO World Heritage Site Diocletian’s Palace and take in the hustle and bustle of Peristyle Square. For a bit of coastal air, stroll along the Riva promenade and enjoy the view of the harbour.

Day 4 and 5: Breathtaking Southern Croatia

Start your journey through southern Croatia in the harbour town of Makarska, another small holiday paradise because here you can find a picturesque old town, as well as the most beautiful bays. The town doesn’t attract visitors with its sights – it is much more about relaxation. That’s why it’s not far from the most beautiful beach in the country: the bay of Punta Rata in the village of Brela.

The island of Korčula offers extensive pine forests where you can enjoy the shade of holm oaks while taking a nice walk. Along the coast of this island, you will have breathtaking views of the open sea, of the neighbouring islands and of the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen. The beaches are spectacular and invite for a relaxed summer day. The villas in Korčula are going to make your holiday into a real fairytale.

The country’s southernmost big city with breathtaking views Dubrovnik attracts crowds because of its medieval old town and astonishing city walls. The Old Town is very touristy and crowded in the high season. The city also offers the Lovrijenac Fortress where you will always get a wonderful view of the sea, and everywhere in the city you can find romantic alleys and narrow staircases.

No matter which region in Croatia you choose, you are certain to experience historical wonders, breathtaking sunsets, amazing beaches and a relaxed lifestyle that will keep you coming back.
