Christmas is one of the best times of the year to be creative, with so many ways to craft items for the home or to give as gifts. For most of these ideas showcased on Pinterest, you do need to have a degree of creative flair. However, if like me, you are lacking a little lustre in that department. Let me share with you some ways that both you and the children can be crafty and creative without too much effort.

7 Christmas creative ideas

With the countdown to Christmas now on, let me share with you some ways in which you can be creative this Christmas utilising STABILO pens, pencils and crayons.

Writing a letter to Santa

Let’s face it the festive only really begins once we have written a letter to Santa. Always best to do this towards the beginning of the month so that he has plenty of time to work on your request. In years gone by, I’d sit in front of the Argos catalogue with scissors and glue to compile a list of wishes. Things have changed a little, but if you are looking for a little inspiration printable letters to Santa might be something to look at. Once you’ve done that arm the children with their favourite colour (because that is important) from the STABILO point 88 Rollerset pens

Salt dough decorations

Salt dough decorations are easy to make and are great for adding to the Christmas tree or giving to loved ones as little gifts. The children can help to make the dough and cut it into festive shapes. Once the shapes are cooked and hardened the children can then colour them using felt tip pens or paint. Using markers to add in finer details once they have finished colouring. A layer of clear varnish on top and they look really effective.

PINECONE DECORATIONS

Did you head out over the autumn months and collect pinecones? If so, then this is a great Christmas craft for you. Painting the collected pinecones with white paint before letting the children loose with STABILO metallic pens, highlighters and coloured pens to add the extra details. Before adding a loop of ribbon to create Christmas pinecone decorations that can be hung on the tree or added to garlands.

Writing Christmas Cards

Christmas cards have fallen out of fashion for a number of reasons, however, I am someone who still sits and writes these out in the run up to Christmas. Before sending them to friends and family both near and far. It’s sometimes that one regular opportunity to check in with those for whatever reason we don’t see on a regular basis. This year I have opted for personalised Christmas cards which include our address on the inside so that I can update loved ones (in case they have misplaced our address). Completing them with the beautiful metallic coloured pens included in the STABILO Pen 68 Metallic Tin.

Festive Wordsearches

With all the festivities happening around us, it can be difficult to encourage the children to complete anything that resembles homework. This is where printable festive wordsearches come into their own. A great little activity to complete at home and if you want to add a little extra element of fun to it – print of matching wordsearches and see which sibling can complete first!

Christmas Gift Tags to Colour

When it comes to adding that personal touch at Christmas you might think that you have to be a creative sort of person. However, with the help of some great printable resources, you are able to add that personal touch without having to do the bulk of the creative work. Take these beautiful free printable Christmas Gift tags to colour, which can be printed and handed over to the children to create masterpieces using STABILO Trio DECO pens or the STABILO Woody 3-in-1 pencils.

Mindful colouring

Christmas can be an overwhelming time of the year for everyone. Between the 101 school events and activities, Christmas shopping, the darker evenings etc. We can all start to feel the strain. One of the wonderful ways to add a little slice of calm back into our lives is with some mindful colouring for adults and kids. Something that can be completed alone or as part of a family activity. Utilising a host of STABILO pens, pencils and crayons to complete the different designs.
