When I was younger I always wanted to join the Brownies, however there wasn’t a group local enough to me to attend plus as my Mam was a single parent money was tight. So when Roo became old enough to join a club she opted for the Rainbows, however after attending for over 9 months she hadn’t really gained anything from it. So when myself and Niamh’s Mum got talking to one of the teaching assistants as school about it they suggested that we popped along to the local Beaver Scouts group.
After attending just one night both Roo and Niamh came out full of energy and enthusiasm for Beaver Scouts. That was back in November and earlier this week they invested into Beaver Scoutsand gained their necker, woggle and badges. Before investing they had to say the Beaver Scout promise…
The Beaver Scouts promise
I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love God
With four girls investing that night Roo was last one to get her necker, Captain B did joke that he’d left her to last as she has been asking every week since Christmas!
Now of course I just have to remember to sew the badges in the right place!
