The only left-handed family member

As Tigger started to complete everyday activities as a toddler such as holding a spoon to feed himself. Grabbing for toys and reaching out for a book to read from the bookshelf. We started to notice that he would do all of this with his left hand. When it came to picking up crayons to colour and start writing it was obvious that his left hand was his prominent hand.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with this. However, as we are all right-handed it was a little tricky showing him how to hold pens correctly, use scissors etc. Which turns out to be a little of us not realise how to use our other hand and also not having access to the right equipment for him. It’s easy to think that most stationery can be utilised by both left and right-handed people. However, there are some items that make things that little bit easier if they are designed for one or the other -especially when they are just starting to learn to write, use a ruler etc.
