Yet, great British getaways aren’t exclusive to the southwest coast of the country. A little further north, just above the capital, on the east coast of England, Suffolk is the ideal Staycation location for the whole family.

Africa Alive
Families who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground should try Africa Alive! at Lowestoft. A winner of the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence, Africa Alive! is a nature park with a difference, transporting the whole family to the plains of one of the world’s most fascinating continents.

Suffolk Coastline
Given that Suffolk is bordered by 50 miles of stunning shorelines, do take the time to enjoy a day at your nearest beach. Inland, however, Suffolk is an extremely historical county and its medieval past certainly isn’t one to be ignored.
Framlingham Castle
A visit to Framlingham Castle is a laidback way to appreciate Suffolk’s past. A super spot for a picnic, ball games, and lazing around the sun, the Castle is also an impressive and integral piece of the country’s history as the place where Mary Tudor was made Queen of England. Walk the walls, visit the exhibitions, and take part in some of the hands-on activities on offer here. It’s a gorgeous, truly great, British day out.
