Do you ever have days when you struggle to recall a positive moment or thought? Life is so busy that some days are all about surviving until I can finally crawl back into my bed. Last week I was tagged by Mummy and Moose in the International Day of Happiness meme – Showcasing ten things that make you happy. Which I thought was a wonderful idea so here I am joining in…
International Happiness Day – Ten Happy Things
In no particular order other than the random order things pop into my head, these are my ten happy things…
My children
They drive me to distraction at times but they always seem to win my heart back by doing something cut. From being nice to each other, a surprise hug or the random things that they come out with.
Chocolate
I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. So chocolate is my only vice. I’ve tried several times to give it up for lent, however, I’ve only ever managed about a week before caving in and scoffing down a bar. I’m not sure I could survive if I had to give up chocolate!
My husband
This year we will have been together half our lives. Whilst no marriage is a bed of roses, we still manage to make each other laugh and how to cheer each other up after a bad. He knows me better than anyone else in the world and still makes my heart flutter.
Pyjamas
I love pyjamas. If I could possibly get away with wearing them all day every day then I truly think that I would. I would even go so far as to say that I own more pairs of pyjamas than I do items of clothes.
Pride and Prejudice
I’ve lost count a number of times I have watched or read this Jane Austen classic. There is something about the storyline that draws me in time and time again – Oh Mr Darcy!
Family travels
One of the best things that Mr. Boo insisted on before we had children was that I passed my driving test. I love being able to jump in the car with the children and head out on family travels. Whether we are visiting the seaside, exploring the forest or heading to a theme park.
Stationery
I’ve been a stationery addict for as long as I can remember. Saving my pocket-money to buy folders, notebooks, and pens. Years later I still find myself standing in the stationery aisle for longer that I should. The thought of a new pen and notebook fills me with excitement for the words that they will share.
Music
As much as I love watching TV and movies I do think that I’d be lost without music. I can happily listen to music all day, just listening to a song can transport me back to when I first heard it or when something happened.
My home
Making a big move last year, I was anxious about whether we were doing the right thing. Almost a year later and I now question why it took us so long to make the leap. A house with a garden, walking distance to the school and room to grow – what more could I ask for?
Netflix
I have to hold my hands up and confess that Mr. Boo was right on this one. Having introduced me to Netflix, I’d be lost without it now. It has made me lazy for normal TV, though, I want to be able to binge watch series and I want to select a new film without having to get up and change the disc in the DVD player.
I’m handing over the happiness baton to the following ladies, please do pop over and see what it is that makes them happy…
