Mother’s Day is the one day of the year to celebrate motherhood. A chance to say thank you to our own mums (and understand just how hard it must have been parenting us as teenagers). But also a chance to celebrate and take stock of our own children.
Elaborate gifts are wonderful and of course welcomed. It is, however, the ordinary moments that mean the most as a mother. From a hug just because, holding your hand down the street and a kiss goodnight.
As Roo and Tigger have gotten older and started school our family life as evolved. The times we spend together reading is often due to their homework requirements. It is only occasionally that they ask me to read to them anymore. So my request this Mother’s Day to them is for us make a promise to read together more frequently.
And in honour of our Mother’s Day pledge, we have some new books to enjoy. Mr. Men and Little Miss books are a true classic and a family favourite so it only seemed fitting to start with them.
Mr. Men My Mummy and Me
The Little Miss will help you show your mummy just how special she is to you.
From making you smile, even when things go wrong, to knowing just when hugs are needed, mummies are SPLENDID, FUN, MAGIC, SUNSHINE – lots of the Little Miss rolled into one!
The perfect book for giving and sharing any time you want to say I love you, too.
The Mr. Men My Mummy book showcases just how wonderful mums are and how much they do for their children. The book is able to be personalised with a section at the front for a dedication. Plus three pages at the back of the book for little ones to complete, filling in facts about their mum and drawing a picture of what she looks like too.
The book makes for a great activity for the children to complete ahead of Mother’s Day or mums birthday, whilst Mum gets a keepsake book that can be read time and time again.
Mr. Impossible and the Easter Egg Hunt
With the Easter holidays just a hop, skip and a jump away it felt only right to add an Easter themed Mr. Men book to our collection. Mr. Impossible and the Easter Egg Hunt has a front cover full of sparkly eggs it grabbed our attention immediately and we couldn’t wait to join the Mr. Men on an Easter Egg Hunt.
Mr. Nosey and the Beanstalk
One of Tigger’s favourite fairy tales is Jack and the Beanstalk so when I saw that Egmont has published a range of Mr. Men themed fairy tales I just had to select this one. Mr. Nosey and the Beanstalk with magic beans and sparkly beanstalk on the front cover, it’s time to open the book and join Mr. Nosey on a very nosey journey.
