With the first frost of winter under our belts, it’s time for us to realise that the cold weather is here to stay for a while. Gone are the days of summer, it is now time to wrap up warm for the winter. Winter doesn’t have to signal a whole new wardrobe, in fact, by having some wardrobe staples available it is just then a case of mixing and matching through the winter months.
Jeans
Unfortunately, men are quite limited in what they wear in the trouser department. Jeans are the obvious choice as they can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. With many different styles of jeans available as well as an array of colour options, it does then give them much more choice.
Jumpers
Layers are better than one thick layer, so opting for a thinner style jumper that enables them to wear a t-shirt underneath will keep them warm and toasty. Whether they prefer traditional crew neck jumpers or a shawl neck to keep the drafts out. It is all about the layers so don’t be tempted by that chunky knit. Don’t forget that all important Christmas jumper too!
T-shirts
Just because the summer sun has disappeared it doesn’t mean that you have to hide those t-shirts in the drawer until next year. Layer them up over the top of a long-sleeved top if they have a funky design on. Or use them underneath jumpers and hoodies to add that extra layer.
Winter Coat
Nobody likes to be cold whilst they are out and about so selecting the right winter coat is important. Depending on how and when the coat will be used will determine which is the best type of coat to buy. Using public transport a lot then a parka might be best with its padded chest and fur trim hood added that extra warmth. Those who are on foot all weathers would benefit from a waterproof coat to protect them from the elements as much as possible.
What are you winter wardrobe staples?
