Don’t shoot me, I know it’s only August and I’m talking about preparing for Christmas catering. However, this year we finally live in a house big enough to have all our family over for Christmas. Over the years Mr. Boo and I have gathered up the children, presents, and a plate or two of food and headed over to someone else’s house to celebrate Christmas.
Whilst it is lovely catching up with family and friends over the Christmas period it can be stressful with presents, too much chocolate (if that is even possible), early mornings and late nights followed by the upheaval of travelling here, there and everywhere to see everyone.
This year I’m hoping that everyone will come to us, I want to be the one who is handing out the mince pies, passing around the Quality Street tin (or tub as they are now) and ensuring that everyone has a full glass. Whilst I am longing to have all the family close by, I am a little daunted by the prospect of all the food prep and cooking that I will need to do in order to feed everyone.
I have a plan…
I’m going to cheat!
Mr Boo has already earmarked himself for cooking the Christmas dinner (thank you honey) so that just leaves me with the nibbles and pudding to sort out. However, I’m going to order some Naughty but Nice Sweet Treat platters from Flavours Catering.
This then leaves me free to wrap up last-minute presents, fill up the drinks glasses and enjoy a party game or two.
I’m not looking at it as cheating, more of an efficient use of my time and skills
Do you order any pre-prepared food at Christmas?
Disclosure: This is a collaborative post,
but I’m ordering pre-prepared party platters this Christmas
