The Easter holidays are fast approaching, and with just over two weeks off from school I have been looking at ways to keep them entertained. With only a couple of days out planned to visit local Easter activities, the Sealife Centre and catching up with friends and family I still have quite a lot of the holidays to fill. I’d rather try to steer them away from Minecraft, Netflix and their Nintendo DS games.
Easter Fun | Kid’s activities from Matalan
Thankfully Matalan has come to my rescue with a range of fantastic Easter kid’s activities. I have to confess to shopping in store for Easter outfits but never thought of looking for activities for the children whilst I was there. Luckily though the beautiful Easter kid’s activity bundle they sent over for Roo and Tigger has opened my eyes to the other items available rather than just good quality and priced clothing.
Take a look at the range of fabulous Easter kid’s activities from Matalan…
Time for a Picnic
This past week we have been treated to some wonderful Sping weather, hopefully, this will last over the Easter holidays and we will be able to get outdoors as much as possible. With a large park and football pitches close by a family picnic complete with lots of fun games. A spot of football, playing catch with the flying disc and blowing bubbles will certainly pass an afternoon without any worries.
Discovering Nature
With the start of Spring, it is the perfect time to put on the wellies and pick up a magnifying glass to head off on a nature hunt. We are quite lucky in that we have the beach, woodland, marshes and of course, the Norfolk Broads so we lots of different wildlife to go exploring for.
With lambing season still underway I hope a visit to a local farm will show the children the new lambs and possibly one being born – although I’m not sure how Tigger would feel about that.
Baking Fun
One of the highlight’s of my childhood was baking with my Mam and my Granny. I have such fond memories of helping them in the kitchen, weighing out the ingredients, mixing them all together and of course, getting to lick the bowl afterwards. This Easter I hope to get into the kitchen with Roo and Tigger to make some yummy chocolate nests, cookies and some butterfly cakes.
Colouring Fun
The British weather being the British weather means we will have at least one day of rain (if not more) over the Easter holidays. Plus as much as I’d love to be out and about with the children every day the housework will not complete itself. So whilst I am catching up on the washing etc. the children can keep themselves occupied with a range of colouring activities along with books to read between them.
What activities do you have planned for the children over Easter?
