Last September Mr Boo and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary, a day that many never thought (or hoped) that we would ever make. The day also marked the 14 years that we’d been together.
We’d got engaged within a few months of being together, with Mr Boo buying the ring that I’d pointed out in a jewellers window during a chat about the future. I never thought for one minute that he was planning to propose to me. After buying our first home we waited until our anniversary fell on a Saturday to get married, a beautiful sunny day 4 years after we had starting dating.
Over the years we have moved house and had two beautiful children however it wasn’t until the approach of our 10th wedding anniversary that it hit us just how long we have been together, how much we have been through and just how we wouldn’t want to go through it with anyone else. Being a milestone in our relationship we wanted to get each other something special to mark the day, to remember the love we have.
Ready to spend eternity with you
I’d already planned to get Mr Boo a watch which has the engraving of ‘against all odds‘ written on the back – partly as a nod to our wedding song and partly to remember all the things we have beaten throughout our relationship.
Whilst Mr Boo had been looking at eternity rings like those ones, especially as I haven’t been able to get my engagement ring back on since having Tigger (curse my chunky fingers).
Knowing how much I love my sapphire and diamond engagement ring Mr Boo set about finding the perfect eternity ring. Wanting to make sure that I would love my new ring as much as my other he asked me to help narrow it down to a couple so that he could then make the final decision.
I have to admit that I really quite enjoyed looking at all the different eternity rings, who knew that there was so many to choose from? Although having seen this wonderful article on the history of the engagement ring I can appreciate the history that has gone into the different designs.
Personally, I wanted a classic wedding band eternity ring, quite simple with sapphires and diamonds to match my engagement ring should I ever be able to fit it back on, I have seen them online on sites like Orla James. After looking at various eternity rings I managed to narrow it down to three which I emailed over the links to Mr Boo and waited to see which one he chose for me come the morning of our wedding anniversary. I wasn’t disappointed.
Now we are ready to spend eternity with each other, lets see what the next 10 years brings us.
