I can’t believe that I’m sat here writing up my last Piglet pregnancy update as I will be having my elective caesarean section at 39 weeks. As I look back Easter feels like such a long time ago since we found out that Piglet was on her way but then in other ways, I’m sat here puzzled that my pregnancy has gone by so fast and I’m set to become a mum again.
Piglet
- Is a big as a pumpkin (hopefully not a large pumpkin!)
- Slowly shedding that white goo on her skin but I might still see some of it at her birth
- She might already have up to an inch of hair (although if she is anything like Roo and Tigger there won’t be very much)
Feeling
I’ve had some bursts of energy in the past week which has enabled me to get things completed around the house and cross off some things on my ever-growing to-do list. These bursts have however come at a price as I’ve felt much more tired than usual in especially in the evenings so one or two early nights have been called for.
Eating
It was really lovely to be able to enjoy one last date night with Mr Boo at the weekend. Visiting one of our favourite restaurants where the food didn’t disappoint – I’m not sure whether it tasted better knowing that we wouldn’t be back for a while or not but I left with a full tummy and a smile on my face.
Appointments
I attended my pre-op assessment this afternoon in readiness for my elective caesarean at 39 weeks. With my blood taken, blood pressure checked and measured up for those fabulous surgical stockings. I also had my weight taken which I must admit I wasn’t looking forward to but actually, I’ve only gained 8.9kg throughout this pregnancy which I’m really quite pleased with.
I’ve been given instructions on what I need to do in preparation for my section, tablets to take, body wash to use and to be nil by mouth from midnight etc. I managed to chat with the anaesthetist and discussed what would happen on the day in terms of getting my spinal etc. and I’m feeling much less anxious about it all.
