Last year when we decided to renovate our bathroom we put together a list of things we were looking for in our new look bathroom. Clean, simple and practical was the words that came out top when we thought out style. Envying hotel bathrooms when we travel as a family we needed a space that whilst was practical for a family however had those clean, stylish lines that you find in many hotel bathrooms.
Choosing a white bathroom suite and the perfect tiles to transform the space from cowboy builders tragedy to hotel chic was relatively easy. The things we didn’t really give much thought about until the bathroom started to take shape was the accessories. From towels, toilet roll holders and that all important bathroom cabinet to house all our lotions and potions.
Searching for bathroom accessories it was easy to find a wall mountable towel rail, toilet roll holder and matching accessories. Having a small bathroom finding bathroom cabinets that would be both practical and pleasing to the eye seemed a big ask. With so many bathroom cabinets to choose from we had to think about how we would use it and what style we were looking for, we found the following at Bella Bathrooms
How do you choose the right bathroom cabinet?
1. Light up mirror cabinet – A bathroom cabinet with an integrated light, complete with a shaving socket would be useful however having already started work on our bathroom it was too late to be adding the relevant power supply needed. Although with a large bathroom window the light wouldn’t have been needed as much, however the shaver socket would have been useful to charge our electric toothbrushes.
2. Lockable bathroom cabinet – Our previous bathroom cabinet had a lock on one door so that we could store medicines etc. safely without fear of the children getting hold of them. I really like the idea of being able to lock away things that I don’t want the children to access.
3. Slimline mirrored cabinet – A slim, sleek-looking bathroom cabinet that would provide a large amount of storage whilst looking good on the wall. The almost frame-less mirrored finish appeals as it would provide a stylish, almost picture like finish on the wall.
4. Corner cabinet – Instead of having a large bathroom cabinet in the middle of the wall, adding a corner cabinet would provide some much-needed storage. Unfortunately we didn’t have a corner for this to fit into other than over the bath which I wasn’t keen on.
In the end we opted for the slimline mirrored cabinet as would still provide a large amount of storage without looking bulky. The addition of three mirrored doors allows the natural light to be bounced around the room making it a light and bright room.
