This 20 page A4 book provides children with the perfect project for school holidays!
It encourages children to write, colour, draw, stick, collect and eventually show what they have been doing during their time away from school.
There are seven days to complete. Each day has a ‘Why not …’ section suggesting fun things to try and do. Plus, there is a daily checklist for children to complete helping them understand the importance of sun protection.
Some children will need more help than others completing the Journal, better still why not get the whole family involved.
Once completed they are a fabulous keepsake!
How we got on
Although Roo has not yet completed the journal we are waiting for the Jubilee half term week. There are some wonderful garden parties and activities going on in our local area and it will be lovely to document these and look back in years to come.
I think it is great that there is a checklist on each day to remind your child about the importance of sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and protective clothes. There is a helpful reminder to parents inside the front cover about the sun danger times, SPF guidance and suitable clothing.
Roo likes the idea of the ‘why not…’ segment on each page, these vary from playing a game of noughts and crosses to counting the number of times you say ‘thank you’ today! (fabulous idea).
It is lovely to see a whole page where your child can draw what they have done, stick items they have collected or attach tickets and photos for each day of the journal.
