I was kindly tagged in The Mum Meme by Sonya from The ramblings of a formerly rock n roll mum. The Mum Meme is a set of simple questions about the Mum behind the blog, so without further ado this is my answers…
Who was your first crush?
I can’t actually remember, it might have been someone from a boy band however the one that really sticks in my head has to be Joshua Jackson aka Pacey Witter from Dawsons Creek.
I still have a crush on him now!
What were the last three things you bought?
- A Christmas jumper – I never really bought into the whole Christmas jumper thing last year but this year I really wanted one and now I do.
- Now 89 – My best friend’s little girl wants this for Christmas. This is one of the last few presents I needed to buy so another thing crossed off my to do list
- Dr Pepper – Roo and Tigger had back to back birthday parties today and I needed some caffeine to get me through them
What are you secretly hoping to find under the Christmas tree this year?
This is a difficult one for me as I can always think of gifts for everyone apart from myself. The practical half of me would say some vouchers towards a new kitchen whereas the sparkly part of my brain would love some sapphire earrings or maybe a new bag (a girl can never have too many bags).
Where would you go on holiday if you could go anywhere in the world?
New York! Especially at Christmas – I love Christmas
- I want to see the tree outside the Rockefeller Center
- I want to go skating in Central Park
- I want to take a trip in a yellow cab
- I want to enjoy the lights in Times Square
- I want to get a little brown bag from Bloomingdales
What are you reading at the moment?
I have to confess to not being much of a reader nowadays, I once was but books have been replaced by films. However I finally got round to watching Sense and Sensibility (the BBC version) the other day and it has made me want to read the book to see how the two compare. Mr Boo treated me to this gorgeous Jane Austin collection for our anniversary a couple of years ago and I’ve only ever read Pride and Prejudice in it (my all time favourite book).
What was the last concert you went to?
Does Chico count?
He was playing one of our local holiday camps so my best friend and I decided to head over there for a laugh. He was so cheesy.
What were you like at school?
I loved my primary school, it was a small catholic school with just 30 pupils per year. I can remember having so much fun there, from school assemblies, singing at the local convent and taking part in the netball team. My Mam was a regular visitor to the school, helping out during the Christmas party, baking cakes and making costumes.
Then high school happened!
I moved from 30 pupils per year to 300 pupils and I was lost amongst a sea of faces. I turned from being interested in school to finding every possible excuse not to be there. I joined the choir, not because I could sing well but because it got me out of lessons to go practice and attend concerts. The same with cross country – those of you who have met me will understand that this body does not run! I would come last at every race but again it got me out of class.
When we moved to Norfolk when I was 14 it didn’t get much better, I was always pulling a sickie or bunking off. Somehow I managed to pass all my exams, I can only imagine how well I would have done if I had applied myself.
