8 top party entertainments to wow your guests

January 24, 2017

Organising a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable party or event can be as exciting as it is stressful. From finding the perfect party venue, sorting out the dates, times, accommodation, travel, guest attendance, catering and more – there’s a vast number of things that all have to come together on the night.

And then there’s the entertainment.

Whether you’re looking to make someone’s milestone birthday night extra special, you’re trying to impress your boss with a slick product demonstration or you just really love creating beautiful memories – entertainment is essential. Of course, your guests and delegates will entertain themselves up to a point, but unless you have something memorable for them to ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ over and interact with, your event may not be the stand-out affair you had hoped to achieve.

But not just any old entertainment.

Here’s a list of 8 top entertainment ideas that are guaranteed to keep your guests fully engaged through the night, and still raving about the next day.

Photography Modelling Session

Make your guests feel like a celebrity for the evening with a selection of photo shoot supplies such as a replica red carpet, a digital photo booth, an array of props and even your own personal photographer! Even shy guests will soon be flashing their very best smile at a chance to pose in front of the camera, even if it is just for one evening.

Digital Graffiti Wall

A fun, new and innovative way to get your guests involved in the party, a digital graffiti wall uses state-of-the-art equipment to work very much like a digital white board. Get your guests to release their inner creative geniuses – they can draw their own graffiti, write their names and even leave comments about the evening, with realistic spray paint and drip effects that really add to the ‘graffiti’ atmosphere!

Fondue Fountains and Food Entertainment

A party isn’t a party without great food. Of course, expert catering can take care of any culinary theme you choose as well as any dietary requirements. Fondues, fountains and dips are a fantastic way of mixing up the party food fun. From a classic Swiss Cheese or Meat Fondue to a Pizza Cheese Dip or indulgent Chocolate or Cameral Fondue Fountain, there’s no end of fun to be had.

Fireworks

Fireworks are a very popular way to start or end a memorable evening. With a wide range of different styles available you can paint beautiful pictures in the sky while letting everyone around know that you are celebrating something special.

Fairground Attractions

Depending on the venue and space available, fairground rides can be an instant hit with guests of all ages. For open air spaces, a traditional merry-go-round with beautifully painted horses can add a touch of nostalgia, while even smaller fairground attractions such as a classic Coconut Shy or High Striker (aka Strongman Game) will keep everyone entertained.

Stage Performers

Music is essential, of course, but does it have to be a DJ? Hire a live band to perform songs requested by your guests, a tribute band covering a central theme for the party, or just a really good bunch of musicians who know how to get everyone onto the dance floor.

For after dinner entertainment, how about hiring comedy, magic, dance or circus acts – you can go the whole hog and put together a performance programme your guests will love.

Living Statue

You often see them on busy city streets, standing in seemingly impossible positions for hours on end – just like a statue. Living statues are highly skilled performers that you can hire for your event. Try to make them part of your overall theme. Why not have living Greek marble statues for an Olympic themed event? Cherubs for a wedding? You get the idea…

Puppeteer or Magician for Children

If your event has families or children among its guests, it’s a good idea to have entertainment aimed specifically at keeping the little ones occupied. Puppeteers, magicians or (friendly!) clowns don’t necessarily have to be on stage – they could be mingling with the crowd, enchanting and entertaining wherever they are.
