5 foods I’d love my fussy eater to eat

July 23, 2015

Tigger’s fussy eating is normal to us now, we have accepted the foods that he will and will not eat along with his unwillingness to try new foods. Whether we are at home or out and about we know the limited foods we can choose from to put in front of him for his dinner to ensure that he actually eats something.

Whilst we may have learned to live with his fussiness there are times when we sit there and think how it would be lovely if he ate XYZ…

5 foods I’d love my fussy eater to eat

1. Roast dinner

What I would give for Tigger to sit at the dinner table and enjoy a home cooked roast dinner. A plate filled with potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and the meat of choice all smothered in gravy.

Come Christmas day we could all tuck into a turkey dinner with all the trimmings instead of Tigger sitting there with either a plate of chips or cocktail sausage rolls.

2. Ice cream

Whether we are sitting on the seafront after a walk along the beach or whether it’s to soothe another bout of tonsillitis I’d love to see him tuck into some ice cream.

3. Cake

With each passing family birthday or party he has attended Tigger always gets so excited when he sees the cake. His magic nanny has baked him some lovely cakes, we have got him involved in the baking however he will never eat any cake. Whether it is a simple plain sponge, a chocolate cake or cupcakes he always refuses.

4. Sandwiches

The great British classic, a simple sandwich. Whether it is filled with cheese, ham or something more special, I’d love to stand and make him the perfect sandwich for his lunch.

5. Baked beans

Sounds silly but Roo loves baked beans, whether it is beans on toast, with a slice of cheese and potato pie or accompanying her fish fingers and chips. At the moment Tigger would only eat the chips out of all that and it would be great to add a sprinkling of baked beans to his dinner plate.

…maybe one day
