Have the right boiler

There are different types of boilers that you can install in your house. Some are high energy consumers while others are quite moderate. You can always find the right boiler for you at Corgi Homeplan.

Clean your boiler

When your boiler is not clean, it will need more energy to be able to transfer heat to the essential place. That is because it will need enough energy to conduct heat through additional mediums.

Take advantage of the sun

You can trap sun’s heat during the day by opening your windows and doors during winter. You should, however, ensure that you don’t have them open long enough for the heat to escape.

Install new window panes

Another way of trapping the suns heat is by having modern window panes that can allow the sun’s energy in and trap it. Modern window panes act as insulators and can also be able to contain heat within the house.

Use warm clothing

During winter, in addition to turning on your boiler, you might want to put on warm clothing to avoid turning up your boiler to maximum power.

Only warm up the rooms you use

There is no need of wasting energy warming rooms of the house that you rarely use like the basement unless you have a very good reason to.

Fill up gaps

You will want to look for escape gaps that can let out your warmth. You, therefore, want to make sure that you look for spaces around poorly sealed window frames, power sockets among other gaps and seal them off.

Direct warm air

Since warm air rises, it can be of no use to you since you don’t operate on the ceiling. However, you can use your ceiling fan to force the warm air down but at a low speed.

Take advantage of waste heat

There are appliances in the house that generate heat when being used like the CPU and even the fridge. The best way of making sure that you make good use of such heat is by making sure that you insulate to avoid heat escape.

Work out

Instead of having your boiler running for hours, you might want to resolve to other ways of keeping your body warm by working out. By working out during the cold season, your body temperature will rise abnormally but will want to settle at the normal human body temperature despite the cold weather.C
